The Impulse 13 is a strong, lightweight canoe that can do it all. At just 19 pounds, it’s easy to carry, load, and paddle. You can paddle it solo or with a friend, using a kayak paddle, canoe paddle, or even oars.

At 13 feet long, this canoe is built for adventure. It tracks (goes straight) like a much longer canoe, but is still short enough to handle small streams, lakes, and ponds. With room for gear, a dog, and even a second paddler, the Impulse is ready for day trips or long journeys.

This canoe was made with a vacuum-infusion process or VIP, which creates a better ratio of Kevlar-Carbon material to resin, resulting in a noticeably stronger hull than the hand-laminated counterparts. Because the VIP squeezes the laminate thinner, extra layers must be added to get to the same stiffness as a hand-laminated hull, required for being able to properly paddle the canoe. The weight of a VIP hull is the same or slightly lighter than the hand-laminated counterpart, despite using additional material. The requirement of additional material results in an increased cost on the VIP canoes.
