Some boats are designed to get you from point A to point B. The Slipstream Wee Lassie is designed to make you want to keep paddling.

Faithfully shaped after the legendary John Henry Rushton design from the late 1800s, this modern Wee Lassie blends timeless Adirondack heritage with today's advanced composite construction. The result is an incredibly lightweight solo canoe that feels equally at home gliding across quiet lakes, weaving through winding streams, or disappearing into the backcountry in search of untouched fishing spots.

At just 14 pounds, this canoe is astonishingly easy to carry, load, and launch. Whether you're lifting it onto your vehicle, portaging to a remote pond, or simply carrying it down to the shoreline, you'll quickly understand why the Wee Lassie has earned such a devoted following.

Built for Adventure

The shallow V-shaped hull provides an ideal balance of speed, tracking, responsiveness, and confidence-inspiring stability. It paddles beautifully with a kayak paddle, traditional canoe paddle, or even a rowing setup, while the low-profile design minimizes the effects of crosswinds so you can spend more time enjoying the water and less time fighting it.

Its compact 10'5" length makes it exceptionally maneuverable on twisting creeks and rivers, yet it tracks remarkably well on open lakes when conditions are favorable.

Modern Performance. Historic Roots.

This Wee Lassie is built using Slipstream's proven Kevlar/Carbon Hybrid laminate, combining the lightweight stiffness of carbon fiber with the toughness of Kevlar. The hybrid construction is durable enough for everyday adventures, handling the occasional scrape against rocks, submerged logs, or beaver dams while remaining unbelievably light.

Slipstream's dedication to preserving Rushton's iconic design has earned national recognition. The Wee Lassie has been featured at both the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, New York, where it remains part of the permanent collection, and the Adirondack Experience Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, where visitors can experience paddling this legendary design firsthand.

Shipping Information

We ship our boats via courier shipping with first-to-final-mile delivery, which means that your boat will stay on one truck and will not change hands from our door to your door. After you place your order, we will contact our network of couriers and/or put it out for bid, and contact you with cost and delivery estimates. Depending on your boat's destination, this process may take several weeks - the further from our location, the longer the process may take. We ask that you inspect your boat for any shipping damage prior to signing for and accepting the delivery.

Please be aware that these are large, premium boats requiring special handling. We’ve provided an estimated shipping cost, but the final amount may vary depending on distance, delivery location, and the transporter we secure for your order. Kenco does not profit from shipping—charges reflect only the actual delivery expense.

As of May 2026, we have had to adjust our shipping policy regarding boats and paddleboards. Due to increasing difficulty in finding a carrier to deliver west of the Mississippi, we have removed those states from our boat shipping options. If you are located in one of those states and are interested in a boat, please contact us by phone or email to discuss options for getting a boat to you, and we'll do our best to find a shipping company that can get it there.

Due to its size, the estimated shipping cost for one boat/paddleboard is

$299.00 USD
