Rheaume Trapper 12 — A Head‑Turning Cedar Canoe

This is a true head‑turner of a canoe — magnificent craftsmanship and a beautiful piece of work. Honestly, we were hesitant to carry Rheaume at first because their canoes look almost too stunning to use. But we quickly learned that some people simply want the best. We don't have a true picture of ours yet. On the production floor ours is the back left, white bottom, Red top with beautiful cedar inside. We got this as a special first boat at a discount. We ae offering you the same.

Rheaume builds both composite and cedar canoes, and every one of them is a work of art. Even more impressive, they perform every bit as good as they look. These aren’t just display pieces — they’re real, capable, high‑performance canoes built by people who care deeply about the craft.

And if you want something truly personal, we can work directly with Rheaume to create a custom, one‑of‑a‑kind canoe just for you. There are countless options, and while a custom build takes a couple of months, the results are absolutely worth the wait.

About the Trapper 12

The Trapper 12 is a versatile cedar canoe designed for both solo and tandem paddling. With elegant, recurved noses and a subtle rocker profile, this 12'9" canoe offers responsive handling and excellent stability — a joy to paddle whether you’re exploring quiet ponds or winding streams.

Rheaume builds this model from premium red cedar with a white cedar interior skeleton, complemented by ash gunwales and mahogany trim. Traditional rawhide‑woven seats add authentic craftsmanship, while the fiberglass‑and‑epoxy hull is finished with marine varnish for long‑lasting UV protection.

Shipping Information

We've got boats coming and going all season long - see what's coming in and when trucks are shipping out here: Boats Coming In, Trucks Heading Out

We ship our boats via courier shipping with first-to-final-mile delivery, which means that your boat will stay on one truck and will not change hands from our door to your door. After you place your order, we will contact our network of couriers and/or put it out for bid, and contact you with cost and delivery estimates. Depending on your boat's destination, this process may take several weeks - the further from our location, the longer the process may take. We ask that you inspect your boat for any shipping damage prior to signing for and accepting the delivery.

Please be aware that these are large, premium boats requiring special handling. We’ve provided an estimated shipping cost, but the final amount may vary depending on distance, delivery location, and the transporter we secure for your order. Kenco does not profit from shipping—charges reflect only the actual delivery expense.

As of May 2026, we have had to adjust our shipping policy regarding boats and paddleboards. Due to increasing difficulty in finding a carrier to deliver west of the Mississippi, we have removed those states from our boat shipping options. If you are located in one of those states and are interested in a boat, please contact us by phone or email to discuss options for getting a boat to you, and we'll do our best to find a shipping company that can get it there.

Due to its size, the estimated shipping cost for one boat/paddleboard is

$299.00 USD

Style: RH-12-RW
