Current Designs has always held a special place in our hearts. When we opened our doors 44 years ago, they were the gold standard — innovative, beautifully built, and partnered closely with Wenonah. We were proud to carry their kayaks, and even prouder to put new paddlers into boats that we knew would last a lifetime.
A couple of years ago, the higher‑ups sold off the Current Designs kayak line. They were purchased by what is likely a good company, but one that doesn’t sell to us. And just like that, a brand we’d supported for decades slipped out of our reach.
We still have a couple of the original CD kayaks — the real deal — and they deserve good homes. If you know these boats, you already know: they’re first‑rate, fun, and built for a life of adventure.

The Vision 120 SP from Current Designs is ideal for smaller paddlers seeking a lightweight kayak. The Vision 120 SP weighs in at only 32lbs. making it easy for anyone to transport. Two composite bulkheads and hatches are put in place for convenience, and the generously sized keyhole cockpit allows for easy entry and exit; as well as enough space for gear storage. The lower faceted decks ensure minimal wind exposure, resulting in a more enjoyable paddling experience. These features combined with the 23in. beam allow the paddler to build their skill set every time they get on the water. The Vision 120 SP is constructed out of a hybrid material that allows for the perfect combination of lightweight durability and value.
